1. They don't have to be from 2009 - but new to you. 2. Leave some kind of story or a reason why. 3. These are the rules. 4. Don't mess with the rules. 5. Fights will go on as long as they have to.
I will share my list later - if I feel like it. Now - humour me.

This is a good one and he did a particularly good job with the "Hold Me While I'm Naked" sound clip. I normally don't like sound clips inserted into songs but Nobunny and George Kuchar are the perfect match I guess. I'm really into Troublemaker by Shannon and the Clams. loudvine.com/blog/mp3/shannon-and-the-clams-troublemaker

I really liked Thee Vicars 'Back On The Street' for bringing back the wacky, out of control, 60s garage style psycho guitar breaks.
Paul Messis wrote a lot of good songs too., if you're into the moody thing like I am
I'm so out of the loop when it comes to newbands.

Cool amigos. New good new bands are Smith Westerns - cute kids. And Hunx & His Punk of course. This was also the year I first heard Bobb Trimble. I was fuck-high on the flu at the time and it was such an other-worldy experience to listen to him. But after the fever went away, so did my interest. Another high-light was to listen to The Complete On The Corner Sessions where Miles absolutetly tries his best to blow your mind. Well. Otherwise I've been listening pretty much to Doo Wop and early sixties pop/rock. Clean cut. The first song to sweep me off my feet was discovered while I was searching for The Charades lethal versh of Flamingo. Instead of finding a good mp3 of that impossibly rare track, I stumbled upon I Only Have Eyes For You by The Flamingos. It's a bit more famous, I guess. But I don't care - I hadn't heard it before! It is - just like The Charades - almost psychedelic in its hypnotic slow-motion delivery. The harmonies are insane. The tipsy lyrics underlines the opiumic atmosphere. Incredible. Heaven. Like eating cotton-candy-clouds and drifting slowly away to the moon. A later, much much later video. Honourable Mention:The Charades : Flamingowww.officenaps.com/nov_05_2007/charades_flamingo.mp3

As usual for the last 30 years, I've spent the entirety of 2009 listening almost solely to '60s punk. But I've always dug this one, from 1961 -- perhaps you'd dig this kind of thing, Leedee (don't worry about the lame visuals, it's all about the song):

The farting trombone is kind of a bad way to start it all off with. But after a while I get that there's some kind of tounge-in-cheek going on. Flawless vocals, flawless Bacharach-penned tune. Definately the kind of music I'm currently listening to. Thanks UFO!
The last great garage experience I had was - except of a couple PM-sent mp3's - Jeff's Moody Monsters Vol. 2

Dancing's gay, isn't it? Except for women. That's why I said you can dance to it. ;D Actually dancing was pretty cool before disco came along and fucked it up. Remember the old film clips of James Brown & Jackie Wilson? In the '60s you had to learn to dance if you wanted a girl ( or unless you were in a garage band like Kirby ).

Dancing is fun! Only problem is, you need to be zonked out of your mind to be stupid enough to do it.
Disco is so super-cheesy these days it's unbearable. But I like a lot of old disco-songs. Some were pretty "out there", and stuff that is pretty "out there" is - in my book - great by default.
Then again, I have no friends and smell like a gymnasium and have sex with myself 3 times a day.
