Proto-punk is a ham hock on your cornflakes.

Yes Laurent, thou art right.
The list of proto-punkers is long.
And what's worse, it's impossible to choose what should be on it.

And what's worse, it's impossible to choose what should be on it. to me it's the best part (beside the great sounds), everybody has a different opinion on what it is so it's endless argument guarantee, and arguments are fun as long as you don't take yourself too seriously!

Do you mean proto-70s punk or proto-60s punk? Because '60s punk is proto-70s punk, and proto-60s punk is "Louie Louie" by the Kingsmen.
You got punk'd.

It's fantastic how you transform your own personal opinions into facts, Ufoudini.

It's fantastic how you transform your own personal opinions into facts, Ufoudini. It's not "my own personal opinion" (is that a quadruple tautology?), it's common knowledge. This question has already been well and truly resolved on repeated occasions, much as the "what does 'garage band' mean?" debate. Also, it's been established that the Earth is several billion years old, not a few thousand -- if that was going to be your next redundant question.

This question has already been well and truly resolved on repeated occasions, much as the "what does 'garage band' mean?" debate. Listen sister, I was just using proper english language so I suppose that's where I went wrong. It's just that I do not know how to debase my swedish-english dialect enough to reach around to get a hold of you kangaroos down-under. Crazy pouch-sniffers. That is my opinion. I'm don't really know too many of the +5000 60s teen beat bits that I'd want to pass as first class punk rock. How many could they be? 20? 50? 100, max. The lionshare is mostly wonderfully wild rock'n'roll. That is my opinion. You know this too. You just don't understand it. That is my fact.

I find that most of the arguments that arise on these boards are the result of my naive opponent's inability to comprehend basic logic, let alone English. Logic has nothing to do with whatever language one indulges in, it's a function of intellect -- which in all too many cases is severely lacking.
How do you know what I stated was a fact OR an opinion? I didn't preface my comment as either. But as I clarified, it IS common knowledge.
There's enough music from the mid-60s that qualifies as proto-punk for it to be a genuine phenomenon. Do I really have to list them all?

No you don't have to listen to them all.

No you don't have to listen to them all. TOO LATE!!! I have already. Are you referring perhaps to your countryman Franz Liszt? (Please note: I speak and type in English, not Swedenburger, and I ask that you interpret my comments in my own language, not some obscure unpronouncable Nordic dialect.)
