`Budget Rock` was supposedly a term that The Mummies created.its also the name of a current label in Oakland. i guess you could define it as music being made with limited funds, but with an anti-production values/professionalism /virtuoso stance.

I like the Pheromoans from Brighton too.

i`m in The Pheromoans for the simple reason that they suck so bad, particularly live(see footage).
we have a self funded 7" out in a couple of months which will be played on most mainstream radio stations.
onwards and upwards as they say.

I saw you lot last April with the Black Lips and Honkeyfinger. Which one were you, I think I might have talked to you at some point?

I think I remember that guy. I somehow broke a chunk out of the floorboards while dancing and he tapped me on the shoulder to point it out right in the middle of the song.

damn i missed that gig ...... you really don't need busy bodies disturbing your dancing routines ....... once i got kicked out a place for throwing their phony plasic cups on the ground and jumping on them in extreme frustration .. i was so sad that i went home and listened to shutdown 66 5 times in a row.
back to topic ......some of my more rough home records would be candidates for good budget rock .....how budget can you get when you record through an argos catalougue karioke machine mic .....and play drums with a bowl full of coins and a tin tray....with you old folks in the back ground yelling "stop screaming you idiot your pissing the neighbours off" i would put these on a myspace page if i wasn't so against myspace and it's dubious fakeness
