Well, I've been looking on the net -- one place lists it as 1959, another site has it as the number one greatest rockabilly tune, and it appears in the Desperate Rock & Roll series. You can find all sortsa crazy stuff on the web. Let's meet halfways - it's from the fifties but rockabilly it ain't. I knew it was rockabilly before I found that "info" on the net. Yes, it's WEIRD rockabilly, but it has that unmistakable rockabilly rhythm to it. It's rocked-up '50s country, i.e. rockabilly. And it's certainly not from the '60s, no matter what anyone might claim.

Miriam Linna mentions this LP on Kicksville66 (in fact she even included a pic of it) and notes that it was a favorite of the Cramps crew early on and I can see why, amazing rockabilly comp. for 1971! unclegil.blogspot.com/2007/11/bip-bop-boom.html

I like "Rock, Rock, Rocketship" by the Rockers out of Plattsburgh, with Sam Dunovan on vox... well, I obviously like it since I chose it for the lead-off track on the 2006 North Country comp, "Cry of Atlantis"...

I've sometimes heard that there is much more obscure rockabilly stuff than 60's garage music . Why is this ? Does it cover more years than garage ?

A hell of a lot more dreck to wade through. You've obviously never heard any albums on the Justice or Cicadelic labels. Proof that garage had its' share of turds too.

this was actually from 1963
(guess its just as well, since the sixties sound as we know it didnt develop until '64 - before that, 1960-63 was just a fifties hangover)
