Not often discussed here, but should be. I mentioned Gin Gillette-Train To Satanville in the faves thread... that's one great '50s track in my iBook.

Hmmm... I'm not that good with if thing are from the 50's or not... My guess is that that Gin track's from the early 60's.

Hmmm... I'm not that good with if thing are from the 50's or not... My guess is that that Gin track's from the early 60's. Sounds like classic 50s rockabilly to me. That sound was extinct by the early 60s.

Definately not rockabilly anyway, more like those horror-novelty tracks that seemed to be so popular in the post-war usa. Dude, there's a horn-section on it, ain't it?

Sounds like 1957 rockabilly to me. Not to me. Definately not rockabilly anyway, more like those horror-novelty tracks that seemed to be so popular in the post-war usa. Dude, there's a horn-section on it, ain't it? Well, I've been looking on the net -- one place lists it as 1959, another site has it as the number one greatest rockabilly tune, and it appears in the Desperate Rock & Roll series.
