Saints covered the Missing Links' 'Wild About You' in '77-ish ... even though it was only 12 years after the original, the Links were already lost in the mire of time and the Saints credited the song to 'unknown'.

I didn't hear of the Missing Links until recently . What a fuckin' great band they were . They should rank right up there with the Sonics .

Yeah I got the cd . Thick booklet and great photos . Did you do all the research ? They were pretty wild looking for the times and got some grief from the local yobbos for their appearance . My favorite photo is the one on the cd sleeve where they're standing in and on a bunch of trash cans .

Slaughter & The Dogs - Quick Joey Small
Stiv Bators - It's Cold Outside / I Had Too Much To Dream (Last Night)
The Dictators - I Got You Babe / California Sun
Alex Chilton - Can't Seem To Make You Mine / With A Girl Like You
The Runaways - Wild Thing
Sex Pistols - (I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone
The Circle Jerks - Just Like Me
The Ramones - Let's Dance / California Sun / Do You Wanna Dance? / Surfin' Bird / Needles & Pins / Indian Giver / Baby, I Love You / Little Bit o' Soul / I Need Your Love / Surf City / I Can't Control Myself, etc.
The Heartbreakers did a cover of The Contours 'Do You Love Me?' and Johnny Thunders recorded a buncha covers by Screamin' Jay Hawkins, The Shirelles, Shangri-La's, The Seeds, Barry McGuire, Dion, Roy Head, etc.
Eddie And The Hot Rods - The Kids Are Alright / 96 Tears / Shake / Wooly Bully
And there's probably been like a million Jan and Dean, Beach Boys, Stones covers that I don't even wanna think about... Plus groups like The Hypstrz - don't wanna get into that!
And well, it ain't punk but there's The Flamin' Groovies covers of Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran, Little Richard, The Lovin' Spoonful, The Byrds, Rolling Stones, Johnny Kidd, Beatles, Dylan, Ronettes, Shirelles, Randy Newman, The Who, Buddy Holly, Link Wray, Freddy Cannon, The Crickets, Paul Revere & The Raiders and on and on and on!
(Can't think of it now but I'm sure the Real Kids recorded some '60s covers too)
