I don't know if 77 or 78 was the year when new wave became the (depending on the band) artier or poppier or politically correct version of punk...

The first time I saw the expression 'New Wave' was on a Blondie poster in a music store, which I saw around August 1976. My thought at the time was 'isn't it just more pop, what's new about it?'...

"Everybody here like the Human League?" I got the first 45/LP on CD, it doesn't move me much. I'd rather listen to early Gary Numan any day.

howabout ABC? their Visa Versa stuff was ok...`83 onwards really sucked for those sheffield bands cept Caberet Voltaire ofcourse.top of the plops
