I've been told that our song "Anytime You Want Some Lovin" sounds like a Rascals tune. In fact, a musician from Belgium described it as "one the Rascals forgot to record",

The Hassles
also: the Last Words, Aesop's Fables, and the Illusion were sorta Rascals-influenced to a point

People often forget how much soul influence there is in 60s garage.... or whatever ya wanna call it. I mean, Question Mark and the Mysterians, for cripe's sake.

Shit man, I've never listened to Young Rascals - Just A Little is a bona fide thriller!
I listened to Knickerbockers yesterday and they were soooo much better than I remembered. What's happening with me? UFO, you're old - tell me!

What's happening with me? UFO, you're old - tell me! Lee, The Rascals (young or old) were one of the best. I've heard them refered to as "Soft Rock". Have you ever heard that term? I've also heard them called "Blue Eyed Soul". What's your take on their sound? Yeah USO, you're old so you answer Lee's question. But, it sounds like you're going through your Mid-Music Crisis, Lee. I recommend a cold beer and a bowl. Then just relax and listen anew. Dr. Tom

First the beer and then the bowl. To pee in and/or wear as a hat.
Yeah, I've heard the term "Soft Rock". I'm a nerd and sometimes buy the MOJO music magazine. And yes, Young Rascals would've been waayy too corny for me 5 years ago. Same goes for Knickerbockers, Beau Brummels, Lovin' Spoonful and such. I must say that I'm not all that crazy about blue-eyed soul. Too nice. Too clean cut. I prefer chaos, drugs and free fucking in the streets.

No sir, they were more on the R&B side of the fence. You're welcome. OK -- now simply explain the difference between "soul" and "R&B" and I will be thanking YOU very much indeed.

What's happening with me? UFO, you're old - tell me! I'm not THAT old, and I'm not 'F' any more.... The Knickerbockers are one of those bands who are 20% good and 80% bad. This is a constant and does not change as the years go by.

First the beer and then the bowl. To pee in and/or wear as a hat. Yeah, I've heard the term Soft Rock "Soft Rock" was invented in the early 70s as a way of making 60s punk sound even better by comparison. You've heard of the Aussie 70s band called Sherbet? The ultimate soft rock poofters.

Yeah, Soft Rock is for people who get laid. Punk Rock is for people who get fucked.
