nice shot of the Animals.this may be completely irrelevant but the guy on the right is a spitting image of young Val Kilmer.

Ed Wool & The Nomads. Their tune " I Need Somebody " has been on a few garage comps. They opened for the Rolling Stones in 1965 in Syracuse, N.Y. I saw them play a number of times at school dances, weddings , clubs , etc. in the mid-sixties. They almost always played in suits & ties like the early Beatles. Fantastic garage band. Here is an interview with band member Mike Christie: www.famousinterview.ca/interviews/mike_christie.htm I got a Wool 45 on ABC not long ago, Love, Love, Love, Love from about 1968, but it's pretty good, reminds me of the Litter. I also have the Sure Cure & Pineapple Heard 45s which were Wool under a different name. I have 4 articles from around Xmas 1965 Rochester Times Union covering 4 garage bands, I will try & post here. I don't have a scanner, so I'll have to take pics. They may be kind of big, to make them readable. Articles are on the Heard, Quirks, Coachmen & Playboys.

nice shot of the Animals.this may be completely irrelevant but the guy on the right is a spitting image of young Val Kilmer. That's Alan Price. He ripped the rest of them off on the royalties for 'House Of The Rising Sun'. The rest of the Animals would have to be the dorkiest looking early-mid '60s band of 'em all, with their lame-o short haircuts. In particular, it makes me physically ill to see Eric Burdon's revolting hip-shaking dance moves.

its funny you should say that because i turned up with my mid-60s garb on and the `professional` costume researcher said i was wearing the wrong thing!...the only thing i know about the 60s is the music was good jah! one of these days i`ll get round to doing that cultural studies MA on the effects of the British Invasion/Beatles on mainstream American culture.
