I just wanted to see what the graph looked like when I was the only one to vote. At least you didn't call it Rap Music.

Yes, there have in fact been three good rap songs in history -- all from the 60s, perhaps surprisingly:
TERRY KNIGHT & THE PACK-HOW MUCH MORE SHAGG-STOP & LISTEN ELASTIK BAND-SPAZZ

Works better as movie soundtrack than music to listen to. I only got 2 rap records at home, Missy Elliott 'Get yer Freak On' and a cdr of Dizzee Rascal first disc (didn't care for the other ones). And there's that Beatle rap in some old Rhino comp.

There have been plenty of movies that I would have thought were somewhat okay had it not been for the music. That being said, I think a lot of the Public Enemy Fight the Power stuff going on in Do the Right Thing was kinda cool, but I don't really like that movie all that much. Maybe I'm racist and can't understand all that Nagra music unless it's Chuck Berry Little Richard or that dude from the Gories... He's black right?

Does that Blondie song about the alien that inexplicably eats cars, guitars AND bars count?
