Anyone knows if this moody killer is comped elsewhere than in "Crude PA" ? There's only a 40 seconds-long commercial in this one...
I want the whole of it !

You can't. It was never released as a 45. The only version that exists is on a Pepsi cardboard flexidisc, all of which is featured on Crude PA.

Good news, Jeanpop. I've just been told from a reliable source that it actually *was* released as a 45 (full version). Label unknown. Now all you have to do is find a copy

Unfortunately no. I don't think he owns a copy himself.

I can post pics of the cardboard disc + some ads and a cool photo of the Effects, but it'll have to wait until tomorrow night.

Turns out my reliable source was drunk when he told me about the 45 release All that exists of "I've Been Told" is what you hear on Crude #2... Still, I'll post the Effects pics tomorrow.

Hi there,
The Effects released one very rare 45 on MW Lads 3407 as two versions. The first Elevator Operator has I've Been Told on the flip and the 2nd has Don't You Ever Make Me Blue on the flip. The first has the harder, garage sound and the 2nd has the added horns.
The Gass Company & the Effects were under the same management and the Pepsi cardboard was issued in the Disco Scene mag.

They used to have cardboard records on the back of cereal boxes in those days. They probably only played a couple of times before being rendered unusable.
